Sticky Words Review & Giveaway CLOSED

I am soooooo excited to be bringing you a review and giveaway from Sticky Words Vinyl Lettering! But before I get into my review, I first want to tell you a story...

I first learned about Sticky Words during a giveaway on another blog, and I went looking on their website to see which of their many designs I would pick if I won. First I went to the "kids" section and saw a few that I liked but none that went "you NEED this one". When I got to the first page of the nursery section and saw the quote "For this child I have prayed, and the L-rd has granted the desires of my heart. -I Samuel 1:27" I immediately started crying. I *knew* this was the one I had to have, and I told my hubby that if I didn't win it that he was going to have to give it to me for Mother's Day. Anyway, the even better part is that as a child my favorite Bible story was the story of Samuel (Shmuel) and how his mother, Hannah (Chana) struggled for so long to have a baby; begging and pleading with G-d for many years. And then finally she gives birth to a son and then gives him up to be a Jewish priest (not even close to being like a Catholic priest) when he was only three. I believe she did go on to have other children, too. In any case, my husband's name is Shmuel and we named our daughter Chana. And not only that, but we struggled just as the Chana in the Bible struggled. Two years to get pregnant with our twins (using IVF)....so my twins exemplify this quote in so many ways. I could not have found something more perfect to have up in their room.

So now you know why I was deliriously excited when Sticky Words agreed to do this review and giveaway! I also made a short video of our putting the vinyl onto the wall in the twins' room. It's mainly highlights and skips a bit, but honestly it only took us about a 1/2 an hour from picking up the directions until the design was fully on the wall. Here you go:

Now for my review... First of all, the most difficult part of putting up the design was getting the vinyl to stick onto the transfer paper rather than the backing. Once that was finished, it didn't take very long to put it up on the wall. It took a while to peel the transfer paper off, but that was because we were being incredibly careful not to mess anything up. As you can see by the video, my hubby and my au pair (both taller than I am, so they could reach better even on a ladder) helped with the actual application of the vinyl. The whole process couldn't have been smoother, and, as you can see, the finished product is exactly what I'd pictured. (Pardon the blurriness, but I took this from the video...)

This next one is a photo straight from the Sticky Words website, so you can see that mine came out exactly as the example did.

In a Nutshell

Pros:

Thorough and easy-to-follow installation instructions
Mostly easy installation
Incredibly large selection of sayings and other designs
Many, many color choices
Different size options
Fast shipping
Affordable
Looks beautiful on the wall; very decorative

Cons:

Making sure the vinyl was sticking to the transfer tape rather than to the backing was difficult, but we did it in the end!

Cost: It depends on the style, but for my particular quote: the 9”x 36” is currently on sale for $17.99 + shipping and the 11”x 45” is currently on sale for $21.99 + shipping ($$ out of $$$$$)

Final Score: 9/10
