Congrats to Lucky Jones, comment #57, on winning our Goodbye Detergent giveaway!
Great job, and good luck to all in our future giveaways!
Update from The Fetus:
Yes, I know I should be updating you on Thursdays when my week changes over, but Mommy likes to do giveaways on Thursday and won't let me post until Friday. No matter, it's the same info either way. Here's what's happening this week, now that I'm 11 weeks (well really 9 weeks gestationally) old. And, just in case you're wondering, all of this info (as in past weeks) are things that will be happening in the coming week. So I will be able to do all the things it says I can and develop all the things it says I will by the end of this week.
I have a review/giveaway auto-posting tomorrow morning. It will be the Sabbath, and I didn't want anyone worrying that I was (G-d forbid) breaking the Sabbath by being online. I'm not. Yay for auto-posting!

- At the end of this week, Mommy will be finishing first trimester (sort of). There are so many different opinions to this, so I think Mommy is really counting 13w 3d as the "real" end.
- Right now I'm just over 1.5 inches long, but I'll be almost 2.5 inches long (6.1cm) when measured from crown to rump and weigh between 0.3 and 0.5 ounces (9 to 13g) by the end of this week.
- My fingers and toes have separated and are getting longer.
- My hands will soon open and close into fists.
- I can open and close my mouth, and I drink amniotic fluid (which passes out as urine).
- Tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under my gums.
- My head is becoming more rounded, though it is still large in proportion to my body.
- I have eyelids!
- Some of my bones are beginning to harden.
- Mommy can now hear my heartbeat with a Doppler Ultrasound device (actually, she could last week...but it'll be easier now).
- I continue to grow rapidly and have doubled in size in the last three weeks alone.
- My face is beginning to look more human, and all body structures are present with a few refinements still in progress.
- My vocal cords have formed in my larynx, and I can make sounds. (I wonder if Mommy can hear me sing in here...)
- My fingernails and toenails will begin to develop this week.
- My muscles are sufficiently developed to allow for involuntary movements, and I'm already busy kicking and stretching.
- The messages which control my movements are sent from the spine, rather than the brain, which is not yet sufficiently developed.
- Soft, non-pigmented hair, believed to protect my skin before birth, will begin to appear on my body. Most of this hair, called lanugo, will disappear soon after birth.
I have a review/giveaway auto-posting tomorrow morning. It will be the Sabbath, and I didn't want anyone worrying that I was (G-d forbid) breaking the Sabbath by being online. I'm not. Yay for auto-posting!
