Congrats to Heather R, comment #71, who won our Kumon Publishing giveaway!
Update from Mommy:
I went to see my OB yesterday, and it was a VERY short visit! I was taken back to a room almost immediately and weighed. Then, I only waited maybe 5 minutes for the doctor. When she came in, we got right down to business. I got up on the table, she took out the doppler and went looking for the baby's heart beat. She found it pretty quickly (considering that I couldn't find it at all on my own last week...) There it was thumping away! What a gorgeous sound, really. Then came the hard part. I had to tell her that I was looking into delivering at another hospital with their midwives. The hospital I'm looking at has tubs (yay) and midwives that have similar views to mine on pregnancy, labor and delivery. I am almost 100% positive that they would be supportive of my birth plan and would actually follow it. I'm not convinced that my OB would even look at my birth plan. It felt like breaking up with a boyfriend, really. But it had to be done! I need to do what's best for me and my baby, and that's most likely going to be switching to the midwives. I just need to make sure that the new hospital's MFM (maternal-fetal medicine) doctors are on track with my care, and then I'll make the permanent switch...
Update from Chana:
I learned how to clap a few weeks ago, and I'm getting really good at it! I'll even do it on cue. I've gotten a lot better at imitating people (like clapping), and sometimes I'll wave when Mommy or Daddy says "hi". The Early Intervention lady says that Dovid and I are making progress, which I think is a good thing.
Update from Dovid:
Once Chana learned how to clap, I decided I really should learn too. So I did! I also wave a bit, and I do Tarzan imitations (beating on my chest). I'm also imitating people, and today I even brought a toy over to Daddy and gave it to him. I then promptly took it back, but Mommy seemed to be very excited that I even showed Daddy the toy.

There is little in life as thrilling as hearing the baby's heartbeat! And never hesitate or feel guilty about making the decisions you need to ... may everything continue to go well!!!
Aww, I love when babies learn how to clap. :)
