Moms Into Fitness 60 Day SlimDown System Review

Now that our new baby has arrived, I need to put some effort into losing all of the weight I gained during pregnancy. I've already lost about 15 lbs just from the baby and fluids, but I've got a loooooong way to go. I was already almost 40lbs overweight when I got pregnant, and now I'm over 30 above that. Luckily for me, Lindsay Brin created a 60 Day SlimDown System just for moms! I can lose pregnancy weight and my ugly baby belly using core workouts geared toward weight loss.

The 60 Day SlimDown System comes with four DVDs, a 60-day meal plan and workout calendar, a progress tracker and fit level test. The DVDs each challenge the body in a different way. The Postnatal Boot Camp DVD will have you doing Intense Interval Training. In the CFS Method DVD you will train your core to fire from the inside-out, creating ab muscles that work like a corset. Then, the Core Metabolic Jumpstart DVD boosts your metabolism, and the Shed 5 Fast DVD melts off the pounds.

My Take
This system is so perfect for me. There are three different phases for workouts - Phase 1 is for the first 30 days, Phase 2 for the second 30 days and Phase 3 for 60 days and beyond. What I love is that all workouts in Phase 1 can be done in 30 minutes or less. Right now 30 minutes is about all the time I have to spare for anything that doesn't involve breastfeeding. Then, in Phase 2, all workouts are 45 minutes or less. Once I get to Phase 2 I hopefully won't be breastfeeding for half of my waking hours. There are also built in rest days where you don't need to do any workouts. (Rest days are my favorite, you know.)

The meal plan also has three phases, and there are even special instructions for breastfeeding moms to make sure you're getting adequate nutrition. The meal plans is SUPER easy with no complicated grocery lists or diet-tasting meals. Plus, the recipes are designed for the whole family to enjoy. Lindsay provides the recipes and you choose what you want to have for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack. She also posts new recipes every 60 days (for $5) in case you want to change things up a bit. Her recipes are delicious, so you don't feel like you're dieting. You don't have to feel hungry or deprived, which is part of why many people "fail" in dieting.

I'll make sure to update you on how my weight loss is going, that way you guys can keep me honest. I'm planning to start the program in earnest once Tzipora has a semi-decent and predictable feeding schedule. Hopefully that won't be too far off!!
