Disney Eye Found It! and Sofia the First Magical Tea Time Game Review & Giveaway CLOSED

Four kids plus Chanukkah equals LOTS of presents. Luckily, my mom and aunt supplied a lot of gifts, but I wanted to make sure the kids got something special from us as well. The girls are now huge fans of Doc McStuffins and Sophia the First, and Dovid loves anything with trains and airplanes. They also all love Disney, so I jumped at the chance to review these two Wonder Forge games.

My Take:

I have a really hard time playing board games with my kids. We've tried Chutes and Ladders, Memory, Candy Land, Hi Ho Cherry-O, etc. But I can't get them to sit still long enough to play without them getting bored. There's not enough action for them, I guess. That and they just aren't very good at taking turns. It's also difficult when one child wins, though at this age they don't really care so much about winning. With the Disney Eye Found It! Board Game, though, either everyone wins or no one does. Each person helps to get the entire crew to the end of the game board before the clock strikes midnight. You can see Dovid in the picture above turning the clock an hour (or two) ahead. That was really his favorite part. My favorite part was searching through the board game for different things. Everyone got to look through the various Disney scenes for everything from buckets to chimneys to waterfalls. It's like Where's Waldo but as a game and on a much larger scale.

Here is Chana getting in on the fun of looking for things on the board. I was shocked that all three older kids, plus our cousin Tommy, sat and played the game until it was finished. That was a first! The game wasn't so long that they lost interest, and there was always something to do. Dovid and Chana both wanted to play with the hourglass timer and kept turning it over and over again even when we didn't need it. They were having a blast!

Knowing they had so much fun with the Disney game, I couldn't wait to try out the Sophia the First Magical Tea Time Game with the girls. Little did I know that this game would be a HUGE hit with Dovid, too. He wanted to hold the magical teapot and squeeze it for everyone's turn. And my test is always if they can sit through an entire game, and the answer is a resounding yes! They even asked to play it a second time in a row. They also took turns pretty well, which made me proud.

Tzipora couldn't quite get the hang of how to make the teapot blow enough to get the cup to change colors, but she's pretty young and will get there. She also didn't want her cup to change color, so any time we tried to blow on it she would get angry and take her cup away. I tried to explain that it was part of the game, but she was having none of it. My only complaint is that even I sometimes have difficulty getting the teapot to blow exactly right in order to make the teacup colors spin. But once you get a hang of it it does become somewhat easier.
